Fast food continues to trend: mcdonald's with more profit

The illinois-based group increased its sales by 7 percent to 6.5 billion dollars (4.9 billion euros). Profit increased by 5 percent over the same period last year to 1.3 billion U.S. Dollars.

Business increased even excluding the newly opened branches – most strongly in the USA, where mcdonald’s scored with burger classics but also with new creations. Salads or coffee and cake have long been part of the offer.

Mcdonald’s in germany is now coming up with something new to attract customers: ordering by smartphone or tablet computer and later pickup at an extra counter. The wait in the queue should now be over.

"This has enabled us to dramatically increase capacity, especially at peak times," head of germany bane knezevic told the handelsblatt newspaper (friday). But it is still a test.

With such innovations, mcdonald’s was allowed to put pressure on its rival burger king in particular. The company, which is also based in the USA and is currently owned by financial investors, is planning a return to the stock market.
