160 People in quarantine after corona outbreak in gottingen

After a corona outbreak in connection with several parties in gottingen, the authorities are working hard to find contacts.
As of sunday evening, 170 first degree contacts had been identified in the city and district of gottingen, including dozens of children and teenagers. So far, 36 people have tested positive for sars-cov-2. A person is seriously ill and is undergoing inpatient treatment. According to NDR information, the person must be artificially respirated. All others are symptom-free so far.
About 140 other contacts fall under the jurisdiction of other health departments, which were immediately informed, the city announced sunday evening. In addition it hit on sunday evening, the city had indications, after which the infection could have taken place among other things in a shisha bar. "To minimize the risk, all shisha bars have been checked today. One of six bars was open – contrary to the state regulation – and was closed by employees of the department of order."
The infections occurred at or after several coarse private parties. According to information from gottingen’s social affairs officer petra broistedt, family associations with supra-regional ties from large parts of lower saxony and north rhine-westphalia had apparently met last weekend. The distance requirement had not been observed, so that the first infections had already occurred on tuesday, broistedt told NDR.
"All first-degree contacts have received appointments for testing. The testing of the people is running since the beginning of the weekend also over the whitsun days," announced the city of gottingen. "Some people did not show up for the test despite verbal requests from the health department."This group of people will quickly be served with a written order to present themselves at the test center, threatening a fine in the event of non-appearance.
The gottingen member of parliament for the grunen, jurgen trittin, said the case shows how necessary it is that everyone abides by the rules. Everyone had to live up to their own responsibility so that the relaxations would work and there would be no second wave.
Meanwhile, it became known that – also in lower saxony – a suspected case of coronavirus infection was confirmed in a refugee shelter in ehra-lessien. After testing 24 people who were in direct contact with the infected, seven people also tested positive for the virus, the county said.
